Update October 12, 2021 (update from Eric):

Jose is our second hand recipient.

Due to the shape of his hand, the "pocket" had to be enlarged. The hand design is on a measurement scale, and if one area changes, all other areas change with it. Enlarging the pocket made the finished hand extra large. We were hoping and praying that it would still be alright for him. His first reaction was a bit hesitant at the size, but once he put it on and began to make it move, his hesitancy turned to wonder and amazement! He loves his new hand and we are so thankful to God for His gracious compassion for Jose!

Jose has a desire to give hope to others where there has been no hope. He wants to spread the message that those with deformities, disabilities, or amputations due to injury and accidents, etc., desire to be included in society and life.

He rides a motorcycle and is going to practice with his new hand at home before using it while on the road. We can't wait to hear how he progresses in the use of his hand and in spreading his message of hope!   God bless him!

Jose loves his new hand, he was drinking from a glass within five minutes!

Eric says he already has a few more people interested in talking to him this week to see if they can be fitted.   All of us at IMS are excited to see what the Lord has in mind. When Eric and Mary left Louisiana and arrived in Guatemala, we had no idea that IMS would be creating these prosthetics.  Whoever said leaving the world behind to follow the Lord would be a boring life had no idea what they were talking about!  God loves helping people, and He will provide if we are willing vessels.
