Update from the home office:

If you're following the IMS Facebook page, you'll know that Eric and Mary are currently experiencing phone company issues.  The phone company they've had for years back in the USA gave them wrong information when they departed, as they were told they could continue their regular phone service in Guatemala.  Unfortunately their phone company doesn't have service in this area of Guatemala.  Since their phone number has been used for quite a few years, it's connected to many things, for instance Paypal.  

So the question arose recently as to how to go about handling donations for the building of the family's house.  Eric says that for the next couple of weeks Paypal should continue to work.  If  you feel better sending a check to the home office, please find the home office's mailing address on this "Donation Information" page : http://islandmissionsupport.blogspot.com/p/blog-page_2.html .  

Please make the check out to IMS, Inc. and once it's received , it will be put into the IMS bank account. Please attach a note if you'd like a tax receipt.  The third option is a bank to bank transfer, but keep in mind that many banks now charge a fee for doing this. You'll need to contact your bank to find out the amount of that fee.   Adapting to logistical changes in a new Country is a lot of work, so hopefully this is the last surprise that Eric and Mary encounter.
