Update November 28, 2021 (updates from Eric):

November 19:

Delivered Lester's new arm today. Lots of smiles! He said how strange it seemed after 47 years to have an arm and hand there. Things will only get better with practice! Thank you Team UnLimbited for this great design.

November 21:

Just finished Edwar's left arm. This is a big arm for a big guy! Going to let him try it out and if no changes are needed we'll start his right arm. With parts as big as this just printing time can take five days! That might see some change coming though.....

As always thank you Team UnLimbited!

Update November 12, 2021 (updates from Eric):

 November 8, 2021:

We delivered Don Aurelio's lower arm today!  He told us that ever since we measured him he has been dreaming about the ways he will use it! He was a very nice man with lots of motivation. He took to using it right away. He lost his lower arm in a machete attack years ago. I pray it's a great blessing for him.

November 12, 2021:

We were able to bless Kevin with a new lower arm today!  He has a rigid prostheses that is ten years old, nonfunctional and very heavy.  I just loved his reaction. He kept smiling, laughing and watching the fingers move. He is just so happy that the fingers move! Also that it's so lightweight! The dark blue color was what he wanted and he really liked it. We all really liked it so next supply order I guess a few reels will be that color.  We all had a very happy morning.

November 12, 2021:

Meet our next recipient, Edwar. Also our first outside Guatemala, he is from El Salvador. Edwar is a survivor with a very positive attitude. Men broke into his home to murder him and rob the house. He lost both lower arms and has many huge scars, they even tried to decapitate him. But here he is in our little spot on the Rio Dulce. Two lower arms for Edwar next in line!

Update November 5, 2021 (update from Eric):

So we helped with another house today. This woman's house burned down. She is very poor. Her community pitched in and built her one but did not have money for the materials to make a floor. The dirt floor was very out of level and of course problematical in the rainy season, this is the tropics. Rita Rabre de Pinto found out about it and we partnered with her to get a floor built.

This woman and her daughter had brought in a lot of dirt to get things better leveled in anticipation of the crew doing concrete. There was still a bit of work getting it leveled right. She shares a kitchen and bathroom with a daughter two houses away.

Thank you to our supporters who make it possible to bring a helping hand to those who need it here!

Update November 3, 2021 (update from Eric):

This is what it is all about! The reason we do this. Rigoberto told us he couldn't believe it, he had been waiting 15 years for a prosthetic. Today he got one! Smiles all around.

Update October 29, 2021: (update from Eric):

Rigo is a happy guy today! He's also a fellow Christian and prayed for all of us as well. This is such a big deal here.  I did say he wrestles with cattle for a living, maybe not with the arm on! He wraps a rope right around his arm and jumps right in to handling cattle.  He's getting the hang of it quickly.

This active young lady got her lower arm this morning. Mom is holding it for her. She doesn't like strangers paying attention to her arm! It's almost too big but the smallest we could make. She will grow into it as she learns to use some muscles she hasn't been using much. Mom assures us she will wear it at home.

Update October 27, 2021:

A couple of days ago was a big life change for Edy, he received his new arm/hand!...

Eric was able to take a short video of him learning to use his new hand:  https://www.facebook.com/eric.lamoray/videos/413105043661241.  Here's a still from the video:

The blue arm is now ready for the girl. Note how small it is lying next to Edy's.  It's the smallest that we're able to make at this point...

 Update October 22, 2021:

While Eric is waiting for Edy to come into town to get fitted with his new arm/hand (see below),

he's working on a smaller arm/hand for a petite girl. The size difference is quite remarkable as can be seen in the palm of the hand:
